Word Documents and FrontPage

Although Microsoft Word and FrontPage are designed to work seamlessly together, the underlying programming structure for formatting is quite different. Spacing and alignment may not carry over as expected from a simple copy/paste operation, or odd artifacts may appear in your pasted content. These instructions are designed to eliminate these hard-to-solve problems. Note: Using the "Paste Special" method does not preserve Word formatting when the copy is pasted into FrontPage.

1. Open FrontPage and log into your web.

2. Open or create the web page that will receive the pasted content.Edit / Paste Special

3. Open Word and the document you wish to copy. Select the full document or the portion you would like to add to your web page. Go to Edit / Copy.

4. Switch to FrontPage. Place the cursor where you would like to place the content from your Word document.

5. Go to Edit / Paste Special.

6. The Convert Text dialog box appears as shown below. Choose Normal paragraphs.

The text now appears on the page, minus the formatting. You are now ready to format your copy using FrontPage.
