Creating a New Page

Before you can begin working on your website, you must create a few pages first. We'll guide you through this simple yet essential process.

1. Creating a Blank New Page

Click on the page icon on the leftmost side of the menu bar. A new page appears in your workspace with the name new_page_1.htm. You can change the page name by clicking on File / Save As. The file name you create cannot include any spaces and must be written using letters and numbers only.

2. Creating a New Page From a Template

Click on File / New / Page or Web.  An options box entitled New Page or Web appears on the right side of the screen. Under the header New from template, click on Page Templates.  There are many options to choose from, and we suggest exploring which options work best for you. Try sampling a few layouts to see which one accommodates your needs the best. Double-click on a layout to open it. If this layout does not suit your needs, you can delete the page by clicking on the X at the top corner of that page. Click on Page Templates again and make another selection.

3. Change the title of your page:

  1. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose Page Properties... from the shortcut menu.
  2. On the General tab, you'll see a box for Title.

Also of note on the General tab, are the fields to define a page description and keywords. Entries in these fields are used by search engines to find your pages.
