Making a Picture Clickable
"A picture says a thousand words"--we've all heard the old adage. And we know that pictures add a lot to a web page in general. So sometimes, we want to use a picture in place of words, and one of the ways to do this is to make images clickable. Clickable images serve the same function as hyperlinks, or links. Namely, they direct the user's browser to another page. The menus that you see at the top and right side of this page were created using clickable images. Now, you too will be able to jazz up your images by making them clickable!
Step 1: Right-click on the image and select Picture Properties.
Step 2: Click on the General tab to open it.
Step 3: Near the bottom of the General tab window, you will see a section labeled Default Hyperlink. Place your cursor in the field labeled Location and enter the address to which you would like the image to link (e.g., http://www.albion.edu/).
The next time you view your web page after saving it, your image will be clickable, and it will lead you to another page.
