The Sustainability Council is the gathering and information center for everything "green" on campus, whether it's academic, extracurricular, administrative, or even individual in nature. If you're looking for information on campus events, activities, initiatives, concerns, or are looking for a place to jump in and get involved, the Sustainability Council is a good place to start.
The Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE) provides an enrichment curriculum for Albion's undergraduates. Students who complete the academic requirements of the Center graduate with a concentration in environmental science or environmental studies (generally for non-science majors). The CSE hosts many public events, generally guest lecturers whose interests supplement EI's curriculum,as well as field trips to locations around the country.
The 144-acre Whitehouse Nature Center plays an important role in classroom instruction at Albion College and offers environmental education opportunities to public schools and the community. Plus, it's a great place to walk, canoe, birdwatch, and think.
The Albion College Environmental House (E-House) is a sustainable living/learning center with undergraduate student residents who collaborate closely with faculty and staff. The primary mission of the E-House is to assist participating students, the College as a whole, and the greater Albion community to learn to live more sustainably by minimizing the environmental impacts of their daily lives.
The Ecological Awareness Club (Eco Club) is a student group committed to promoting education, activism, and volunteering with an environmental focus. The group meets regularly and holds a variety of activities throughout the year, including community clean-ups and fundraisers.
