Leader of Praise Team for Battle Creek First Presbyterian ChurchDepartment: Off-Campus Battle Creek First Presbyterian Church Purpose: To serve the church by developing and leading a Praise Team for the Heart of Praise service in such a way as to give glory to God, promote a positive Christian witness, and contribute to the spiritual growth of the congregation. Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with the Pastor in leading the worship of the Heart of Praise service. 2. Lead/Direct the musicians and singers of the First Presbyterian Church Praise Team. 3. Be familiar with Praise and Worship music, including new resources, and choose music that is appropriate in style, theology, and within the abilities of the group. 4. Set and run regularly scheduled rehearsals. 5. Arrange for the lyrics and graphics (as needed) to be sent to the technical group. 6. Arrange for substitutes when necessary. 7. Develop a collaborative relationship with the Director of (Traditional) Music Ministries consistent with the priorities and goals for worship and music established with and by the Pastor and the Session. 8. Attend staff meetings and retreats as schedule permits. 9. Carry out other relevant tasks, duties or responsibilities which may be assigned by the Head of Staff. ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE: This is a part-time position, approximately 10 hours per week, exempt. REPORTS TO: This position will report to the Head of Staff (Pastor). 2 PREFERRED APPLICANT PROFILE: + A visible commitment to Jesus Christ + Skilled and experienced in leading a Praise and Worship style Praise Team. + A versatile music leader able to work effectively with the Pastor, staff, vocalists, instrumentalists, and volunteers. + Excellent keyboard skills in contemporary church music. + Able to promote the spiritual growth of the Praise Team participants and the congregation while continuing personal growth. |
