Education: B.A., Germanistik & International Studies, Albion College, 2004
Hometown: Rochester Hills, Mich.; Rochester Adams High School
Hobbies/Fun Facts: I spent two years in Heidelberg, Germany as a Fulbright Grantee. While I was there I taught ESL at a gymnasium (university prep) and studied at one of Europe's oldest universities. I also researched extracurricular involvement and its importance in students' lives prior to university. I also lived in Chicago for two years, working primarily in renewable technologies like wind and solar power. People would describe me as a big kid, as I'm a huge Transformers geek, love playing/watching sports (especially soccer), and collecting random trivia.
What Makes Albion College Special to You? It's hard to narrow it down to just one thing, but it would definitely be the people! Albion College oozes personality, with faculty, staff, and a student population that form one of the greatest college communities out there!
Favorite Albion Moments: There are so many to choose from. Late nights as a student manager in the KC were a blast but my work as a student mentor is one of the things I'll treasure most about my time at Albion. It has allowed me to 'pay it forward' to future generations of Britons! Now I get to do this on a much larger scale in Illinois and my other out-of-state territories.
Best College Search Tip: Try to approach your search "cost blind." Look for the important elements like majors, special programs, outcomes, and fit. My best piece of advice is to visit and give the institution a test drive.

Education: B.S., Sociology, Western Michigan University, 1995; M.S., Sociology, Western Michigan University
Hometown: Albion, Mich.; Lumen Christi High School
Hobbies/Fun Facts: I enjoy spending time with my daughter. I also like golfing, gardening, crafting, canoeing down the K-zoo river, and reading.
What makes Albion College special to you? I met my husband here. You can usually find my family cheering on our teams or attending the newest play on campus.
Favorite Albion Moments: Watching Michael Thomas hit a leaning three-pointer at the buzzer to beat John Carroll 80-79 and move on to the sectional finals in March 2005. I also enjoy a tradition I started called Soup Sundays. On Sundays we have our Albion faculty and staff friends over for dinner and games.
Best College Search Tip: Start early! There is nothing worse than having to rush into a decision because you've waited until the last semester of your senior year to start looking at colleges. Give yourself plenty of time to visit colleges and get your questions answered so you can make an informed, not rushed, decision. Remember that the job of an admission counselor is to help students through the college search process. We're here to help, so take advantage of that! Lastly, visit, visit, visit!
