A time-honored Albion College tradition
Matriculation marks the moment when all new students (both first-years and transfers) officially become a part of the Albion College family by recording their names in the College history.
Faculty are robed in their traditional academic regalia for the event, held on the Friday of Fall Orientation each August in Goodrich Chapel. New students are formally welcomed to the Albion community of scholars by the College's president, faculty, and upperclass students, and they hear the College hymn, "Albion, Dear Albion," possibly for the first time.
Parents and family members are invited and encouraged to attend the ceremony, which follows a pre-matriculation reception that offers opportunities to create their own Briton connections.
Pre-Matriculation Reception (for parents/family members), 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. Tent Area on Quadrangle
Matriculation Ceremony, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Goodrich Chapel
