Holly Williams Swims Away With MIAA Award

Holly Willliams has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Athlete of the Week in women’s swimming & diving, league publicist Greg Chandler reported Monday. Williams, a senior from Sylvania, Ohio, won two individual events and was part of a third winning entry as the Britons defeated Saint Mary’s College, 153-125, Feb. 4.

Williams was first in the butterfly events with times of 1:03.27 in the 100 and 2:17.81 in the 200. She joined Shea Williams, Mackenzie Chesley, and Allison Wilburn for a victory in the 200 medley relay.

Williams and her teammates now turn their attention to the MIAA Swimming & Diving Championships, scheduled for Feb. 15-18 at the Holland Aquatic Center.
