Women's Golf Finishes 8th in MIAA Event

Albion College posted a 385 score Saturday to slip to eighth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships with a 36-hole total of 753. Erica Mazur, who improved her first round score by two strokes to an 86 Saturday, finished 15th on the individual leader board with a 174 total. Mazur finished the season with all-MIAA second team status, posting an 85.7-stroke average in six league rounds (four MIAA Jamborees and the 36-hole championships).

Erica Mazur and Morgan Reed posted rounds of 88 as Albion College posted a 368 score on the first day of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Albion is seventh in the team standings, two strokes behind sixth-place Adrian College and five behind fifth-place Alma College. Melissa Megerian and Mariah Fiorillo also contributed to Albion's score with rounds of 94 and 98, respectively.

A team effort Thursday helped the Albion College women’s golf team achieve its lowest score of the season. The Britons’ 370 total put them in sixth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree played at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Erica Mazur’s 85 placed her in a tie for 11th in the individual standings. Morgan Reed’s 93 was her best MIAA round of the season, Melissa Megerian’s 97 was her best round of the season, and Mariah Fiorillo’s 95 matched her best round of the season. Albion will return to Bedford Valley Friday and Saturday for the 36-hole MIAA Championships.
