Lewis Qualifies for NCAA Cross Country Championship

Photograph by Penny Smith.INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Albion College sophomore Paul Lewis has qualified to run in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship as an individual. It will be Lewis’ second appearance in the national meet as the Britons qualified as a team for the 2010 championship.
Lewis, a product of Albion who achieved all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association first team status this season, finished 14th among 243 runners in the Nov. 12 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships at Oberlin, Ohio. Lewis will be among 56 individual runners joining 32 seven-runner teams at the national meet. Calvin College, the regional champion, has qualified as a team and Nate Love of Hope College has also qualified as an individual.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host the championships, Nov. 19, at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The men’s race will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
