Rewa Reaps MIAA Player of the Week Award

Patty Rewa moved into sixth place on Albion's all-time scoring ladder.Patty Rewa, Albion College’s senior center from Greenville, has been named the women’s basketball player of the week in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association for the second time in as many weeks, publicist Greg Chandler announced Monday afternoon.

Rewa scored 38 points and pulled down 21 rebounds as Albion defeated Kalamazoo College, 63-39, and Olivet College, 69-45, to finish third in the MIAA and earn a Thursday date with Hope College in a semifinal game of the league tournament. She had one of her best games of the season in the regular season finale against Olivet, hitting 8-of-11 shots from the field and all five of her free throw attempts and pulling down 13 rebounds to complete her 12th double-double of the season.

In statistics for MIAA games only, Rewa led the league in rebounds (averaging 9 ½ per game), and finished second in scoring (15 points per game) and third in field goal percentage (.551).
