Nyika wins MIAA title in the 200 meters |

ALMA, Mich. - Michael Nyika (Diamondale/East Lansing) sprinted to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association title in the 200 meters and he finished second in the 100 to lead Albion College to a third place finish in the league's Field Day.
Boosted by Nyika's 18-point performance, Albion rolled up 72 points in the two-day meet.
Nyika's winning time of 21.78 in the 200 was three hundredths of a second off the provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division III Championships. He crossed the finish line in 10.86 seconds in the 100.
Albion collected 13 points in the 400 hurdles as Ahmed Chaudhry (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) finished second (56.18 seconds), and Lucas Rider (Bronson/Bronson) finished fourth (57.48 seconds).
First-year thrower Shaw McCavit (Hillsdale/Hillsdale) scored with a fourth place finish in the discus throw. His best effort was measured at 139 feet.
