Albion Places Two in Top 10 in MIAA Men's Golf Event

Scott MerrittScott MerrittKALAMAZOO, Mich. – Albion College placed Scott Merritt (Bloomfield Hills/Lahser) and Jake Bloom (Tecumseh) among the top 10 individuals at Milham Park Tuesday, and it was rewarded with its lowest team score of the season. Albion’s 304 total locked it into a tie with Calvin College and Trine University for third place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s fourth jamboree.

Merritt completed the back nine in 35 strokes to post a round of 74 that tied him for fifth on the individual leader board. Bloom went out in 38 and came in with a 37 to tie for 10th with a 75.

Brent Koaches (Midland/Dow) and Logan Hull (Swartz Creek) completed Albion’s team score with rounds of 77 and 78, respectively.
