Koaches Remains In Hunt For All-MIAA Award

Stacy Rich photo.BATTLE CREEK – Brent Koaches' (Midland/Dow) round of 75 tied him for fourth in the individual standings as Albion College tied Calvin College for fifth in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree played at the Bedford Valley Country Club. Albion and Calvin posted 316 team scores.
Koaches moved up to 11th in the MIAA’s individual standings for the season. He boasts a 77.7-stroke average through three of the eight rounds.
Scott Merritt (Bloomfield Hills/Lahser) is now tied for ninth in the individual standings for the season after a round of 78. He was 19th on the leader board Wednesday.
Albion is seventh in the league with a 974 total through 54 holes. The league’s fourth jamboree is Saturday at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
