Albion Celebrates MIAA Championship at Awards Banquet

Clinton Orr, the MIAA's Offensive Most Valuable Player, was named the team MVP.Clinton Orr, the MIAA's Offensive Most Valuable Player, was named the team MVP.The Albion College football program celebrated its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship in style Jan. 22 with its awards banquet at Baldwin Hall. Seventy-two Britons received varsity awards, and special recognition was awarded to the following members of the team.

Captain Awards (the football program does not designate captains during the season, instead awarding the following players for the leadership they exhibited throughout the season): Jason Bajas, Brice Johnson, Spencer Krauss, John Lesinski

Steve Gilbert Coaches’ Award: Jason Bajas, Spencer Krauss

Most Valuable Player: Clinton Orr

Offensive Player of the Year: Brian Spencer

Kris Knobloch Award (to the defensive player of the year): Chris Greenwood

Scholar-Athlete Award: Jacob Heinrich

Rookie of the Year: Tyler Kramer

Scout Team Player of the Year – Offense: Jim Birnie

Scout Team Player of the Year – Defense: Logan Kelly

Most Improved Player – Offense: Chris Ogston

Most Improved Player – Defense: John Lesinski

Offensive Lineman of the Year: Eric Woods

Defensive Lineman of the Year: C.J. Carroll

Special Teams Player of the Year: Mike Vandermus

Iron Man – Offense: Chris Ogston

Iron Man – Defense: Jason Bajas

Unsung Hero – Offense: Wes Dolen

Unsung Hero – Defense: Julian Paksi

Tape Can Award (awarded by the athletic training staff to the player who often needed athletic training services but continued to participate): John Lesinski
