Housing Selection Guide

Albion College is a residential campus. As such, students are expected to reside in College housing for the duration of their enrollment.

Students choose rooms through a room selection and lottery process held during the spring semester for the following academic year. Information about the room selection and lottery process is distributed to students through campus mailboxes approximately three weeks prior to the beginning of the room selection process.

Students choose rooms based on their lottery number, a randomly assigned number dependent on class year as defined by the Registrar as of January 1.

Eligibility:
Graduating seniors, students planning to withdraw or take a leave of absence, and students approved for an off-campus program may not participate in the Housing Selection process. Housing selection eligibility will be verified during the room selection process.

Roommates:
Unless approved for a private room, all students should anticipate having a roommate. We encourage all students to choose their own roommate, and to do so carefully. First, make sure your roommate is planning to return to campus next fall. If your requested roommate does not return, another roommate will be assigned to you. Second, before committing to a roommate, discuss important lifestyle issues. While you may not find a perfect match, you will at least know what to expect. If you have trouble finding a roommate, ask your RA or RD for assistance.

Fraternities:
Housing lotteries are conducted within each house according to chapter procedures.

Don't lose your room!
Any student who selects a room but is not registered for classes by May 1st may be removed from their selected room and placed on a waitlist.
