Annexes
Annexes are housing options offered to senior students who are
interested in a more independent and interdependent lifestyle than is offered in
our traditional residence halls. Annexes are open during the same periods as all
College residence halls and are closed during College vacation periods.
Residents are responsible for self-government and cleaning of all common
areas of the annex. Campus and U.S. Mail is delivered to mailboxes in the
Kellogg Center.

Annexes
are furnished small houses located on campus that accommodate 7-10 students. Basic kitchen and laundry appliances are provided. *501
Michigan Ave. Annex is designated as substance
free (no alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances) facilities.
Students apply in groups for annexes
during the Room Selection/Lottery process, which is held during the spring
semester for the following academic year. Each group must designate a spokesperson to represent the group
during the application process and throughout the academic year. The spokesperson will work closely with
the Assistant Director of Residential Life serving as a liaison and house manager for administrative tasks.
Each group will have the opportunity to indicate their preferences for assignment to a specific annex. Group size and cumulative lottery numbers of approved groups may be a factor in actual assignment. The final determination of location will be made by the Office of Residential Life. Approval and assignment is granted year-to-year. An applicant must be in good social standing to be considered.
Community Area Most annexes are similar to a
normal residential house, which includes a living room, dining room, and a front porch area. The community area differs slightly
for each annex, yet areas
allow both small and medium gathering space so students can study or socialize. Laundry
machines and dryers are provided in each annex.
Living Room, Dining Room, and Kitchen Furnishings
Annexes are provided with basic living room furniture, such as
sofas, chairs, end tables, coffee tables, dining room tables and chairs.
Kitchens are furnished with a refrigerator and stove. Some annexes have
dishwashers.
Bedroom Furnishings
Each double room is equipped with two beds, two desks & chairs, closets, one chest of drawers, a telephone with
private access to the College voice mail system, cable TV hookup,
Internet connection and mini blinds. All
College furniture must remain in the student's room for the duration of the academic year.
Bed Lofts
