2006 Graduating Minors

The Faculty and Staff of the Department of Religious Studies congratulate our seven graduating seniors with a minor in Religious Studies. They are: Hillary Burgess, Heather Dukes, Jennifer Fleischmann, Hilary Korstange, Tracey Martin, Daniel O'Brien, and Christine Schneider.

Congratulations, Seniors!

Below you will find a brief description about each of them and their future career plans and goals.

Hillary Burgess

I am a biology major with a minor in Religious Studies. Following graduation I will be working for the Michigan Natural Features Inventory on research that will be applied to forest management and conservation. I plan to be applying to graduate schools in the fall for enrollment in 2007.

Daniel O’Brien

I am graduating as a biology major and a religious studies minor with a concentration in environmental studies. My plans right after graduation are working with the Nevada state EPA, assessing biological health in and around Nevada’s streams and rivers. Future goals and ambitions include; going to graduate school, volunteering for the Peace Corp, performing environmental research, getting into environmental advocacy, and saving the world. “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Christine Schneider

My hometown is Huntington Woods, Michigan. I am a Psychology major with an emphasis on Criminal and Abnormal Behavior and a minor in Religious Studies. I have always been interested in comparative religions throughout high school so taking religion courses here at Albion was not a question. I "fell" into a minor after I took two courses and decided that I could gain a minor. I am mostly interested in Islam and the dynamics related to the religion.

After graduation, I plan on taking a year off and finding a job related to Psychology to gain more experience. In Fall of 2007 I plan on entering a Clinical Psychology Doctoral program and I will specify in Criminal Behavior and Profiling/Investigation. Even though I am going to work my psychological background, I will attempt to continue to study Islam if it is at all possible.
