Course Archives

As in other Albion departments, a major consists of a minimum of eight units, including:

Two foundation courses 101, Introduction to Western Religions and 102, Introduction to Eastern Religions and at least six other units, selected on the basis of which track a student chooses: the general or graduate studies track. No more than four 100-level units can be counted toward the major.

All courses for the major must be taken for a numerical grade. Exceptions must be approved by the department chair.

For assessment purposes, all majors must maintain a portfolio consisting of evaluated examinations and papers (of their choice) in the department office.  Each portfolio will be assigned to a faculty member in the department, who will periodically review it and report to the other faculty members in the department.  The portfolio is under the control of the individual student and will be surrendered to him/her upon graduation.
