TRANSFER CREDIT APPROVAL FORM

You must have written pre-approval to transfer credit to Albion College. Therefore, list the courses you wish to take below and request that credit be allowed at Albion College upon receipt of an official transcript showing completion of the work with a grade C or better. Credits transfer but grades do not. Courses taken for elective or core credit must be approved through the Office of the Registrar. Courses for one's major must be approved by the major department Chair. The Office of the Registrar must receive a written copy of this approval. To save yourself time make sure that this approval includes whether the course is to be accepted as elective credit, core credit, or is replacing a specific requirement. Students in the Education Program need to take a copy of the approval to the Education Department. Attach to this form a course description  or syllabus as well as the credit system for the school you plan to attend. Ask the school to send an Official transcript to the Office of the Registrar at Albion College and understand that the credit will appear on your permanent academic record if you return to Albion College the following semester. Any transfer credit taken AFTER enrolling at Albion College will require the department approval to satisfy mode and/or category credit.  No more than 16 units of coursework may transfer from a community college. Juniors and Seniors may do course work  at a community college. The residency requirement states that your final 12 units must be completed at Albion College or through participation in one of our Off-campus Programs.
