CATEGORY REQUIREMENTS

A liberal arts education prepares students to play a critical, thoughtful role as citizens  in their society.  Courses in environmental, ethnicity and gender studies deepen students' understanding of themselves, society and the world by introducing them to many different perspectives.


For students entering Fall 1996 and later
A. 1 unit of Gender Studies
B. 1 unit of Ethnic Studies
C. 1 unit of Environmental Studies
It is important to note that courses fill category requirements only when taught by the designated instructor.
