Albion’s public policy provides good preparation for students planning on graduate or professional study in a variety of fields.  The links below provide, as examples, the web sites for relevant programs at the University of Michigan:

Law

Master of Public Policy (MPP)

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Master of Public Health (MPH), concentration in health management and policy

M.S. in Natural Resources and Environment, concentration in resource policy and behavior

Master’s of Social Work (M.S.W.), concentration in social policy and evaluation

Many other universities also offer good programs in these fields or in other fields related to public policy.

3/2 Program with University of Michigan School of Public Policy

Students considering a Master of Public Policy degree may be interested in a 3/2 program available under an agreement between Albion College and the University of Michigan School of Public Policy, which has one of the best masters programs in public policy in the U.S..  The Albion—University of Michigan 3/2 program allows students to earn a B.A. degree and an MPP degree in five years, rather than the usual six.  Students spend three years at Albion College, taking economics, political science, calculus, and other liberal arts subjects.  Then they spend two years at the University of Michigan, taking graduate courses in public policy.  The program is selective; the University of Michigan normally requires students to have a 3.5 GPA at Albion, although they will admit students with lower GPA’s if their GRE scores are very good or if there are extenuating circumstances.
