We congratulate our graduating seniors!

The department will miss the many students who graduate this year.  We are excited at their prospects: many will attend great graduate schools, others will enter the work force, and some will travel to exotic places.

Psychology Students Win Awards at Honors Convocation

Psychology named the winners of several departmental awards at the Honors Convocation, held on April 26:

Cindy Cardwell took top honors as this year's winner of the Heston Award, given to the outstanding psychology senior.  She will pursue a PhD in Learning at UCLA.

Nick Bismack won the David K. and Patricia B. Hogberg Award for Excellence in Research in Psychology.  Nick will turn professional in his career as a cage fighter this summer, and will spend next year in Thailand fighting and training before entering graduate school in the fall of 2009. 

Keith Zabel  won the Kirsten Metalonis Memorial Scholarship (given in memory of Kirsten, who died shortly before she was to graduate in 1999).  He hopes to pursue a career related to industrial/organizational psychology.

Chrstina Poulin was awarded the Kirsten Metalonis Summer Research Fellowship.  She will engage in research related to cognitive psychology summer, and plans to pursue graduate work in cognitive psychology or psycholinguistics.
