Albion College President Donna RandallDear Visitor,

Welcome to Albion College’s Web site. I am glad you are here to explore all that Albion has to offer. Our home on the Web is complete with admissions information, campus news and events, and alumni resources, as well as detailed information about academic departments, our preprofessional institutes and research opportunities, and student life.

Albion’s faculty and staff are devoted to the philosophy of “students first.” From the moment we meet potential students to the day they walk across the stage after receiving their diplomas, we are committed to the personal and professional development of our students.

On our Web site and in personal visits to our beautiful campus, you will notice a very healthy and important balance at Albion that reflects a strong emphasis on academic life while recognizing the value of activities outside the classroom. Albion offers opportunities for community service, varsity and intramural sports, clubs, fraternities, sororities, leadership endeavors, personal and spiritual enrichment, and artistic pursuits.

We live in a global society, and Albion is committed to initiatives that prepare our students to compete and lead in a global context. Through our diverse course offerings and off-campus study programs, every Albion student gains exposure to other cultures, ideas, and influences—especially those that are most different from our own.

Albion’s strong academic programs are augmented by our unique Institutes and opportunities for undergraduate research. The Foundation for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (FURSCA) enables students to work on specialized projects with faculty as early as their first year on campus. Albion’s comprehensive liberal arts education is further bolstered by our six preprofessional Institutes, which set the College apart from many of our peer institutions. These programs enrich our students’ education and help prepare them for graduate school and the world of work.

Finally, it is our mission at Albion College to enhance the sense of community and common purpose among our students and to encourage them to reach out beyond the campus. “Service-learning” is not simply a lofty concept for us—it represents a guiding principle for every member of the Albion College community.

Thank you for taking the time to explore Albion on the Web. Whether you are a potential student, an alumnus/alumna, or an old friend, I strongly encourage you to visit our campus. Please call or e-mail the Admissions Office to arrange a visit today.

I look forward to seeing you on the Quad! Io Triumphe!

Donna M. Randall
