Office of the President

Welcome to Albion College online!
Whether you are a prospective student or parent, alumnus or alumna, our neighbor, or someone simply interested in learning more about us, we're pleased that you're taking the time to explore all that Albion has to offer.
Since the College's founding in 1835, an Albion education has been firmly rooted in the liberal arts tradition, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary not only to contribute and succeed in today's global society, but to shape, change, and lead. Our faculty and staff are fully devoted to our students' academic and personal development, and, our students, in turn, go on to make an impact—in graduate or professional school, in their careers, and in volunteer service both at home and abroad.
Our increasingly interconnected world has created new challenges as well as opportunities, and we as a college have a responsibility to meet them. The Albion Advantage, launched in 2010, is a pledge to our students that the College—from the faculty adviser to Career Development officers and other mentors—will help them identify and achieve their professional goals by integrating academic and career preparation. Our distinctive Institutes and Centers further support this endeavor through specially designed course work and opportunities, enabling students to apply what they have learned in real-world settings. Through a unique blend of experiential learning, undergraduate research, off-campus study, internships, and engagement with alumni, our students will be well prepared to make that impact on society after receiving their Albion degree.
An integral part of an Albion education is our students' life outside the classroom, and we recognize the importance of balancing rigorous course work with rewarding activities on and off campus. Albion students take that notion and run with it—expressing themselves through community service, varsity and intramural athletics, the performing arts, fraternities and sororities, spiritual enrichment, and a host of other clubs and endeavors. And it doesn't end there: The campus community is dedicating entire academic years to themes that are critical to our understanding of ourselves and our world—sustainability (2010-11), wellness (2011-12), and global diversity (2012-13)—and we are offering programming and events that aim to enhance the dialogue on these vital issues.
If you're visiting us for the first time, I know I speak for our proud alumni by saying that the more you get to know Albion College, the more special it becomes. Thank you for visiting our Web pages, and allow me to extend the welcome by inviting you to visit in person, see our beautiful campus, and meet some of the great minds that call Albion home.
I look forward to seeing you on the Quad. Io Triumphe!
Donna M. Randall
