Pre-Health
Professions Advising
A health professions advisor is a source
of vital information as well as an advocate for students. It is more than
simply telling you what classes to take, but provides valuable services to
students facing graduate school in any health care related field. Here are
some examples of services provided by the Pre-Health Advisor at Albion
College.
-
Information on preparation for
graduate school and the graduate school application process.
-
Evaluation of application materials
and assistance with writing autobiographical and personal statements.
-
Assisting the Pre-Medical and
Pre-Dental Committee in compiling and writing letters of recommendation.
Transmitting those letters to the appropriate graduate schools.
-
Representing Albion College to the
various health professions schools and associations. Knowledge of the
admissions criteria of a wide range of professional schools and how
Albion's course work fits into their requirements for admission.
-
Providing information for
underrepresented minority students on available resources.
-
Information on parallel planning and
other alternatives for careers within the health professions.
The Pre-Health advisor at Albion College
can be one of your best sources of support, information, evaluation and
encouragement when it comes to choosing your career path and taking the
