Top five Albion
moments

Sports EditorAfter 135 wins, 24 athletes
receiving league honors, and 16 athletes recognized
as MIAA Player of the Week, many agree that the 2007
to 2008 school year was a successful one in Briton
sports.
“It is a great time to be a Briton,”
said Bobby Lee, Albion College sports information
director.
After polling 100 students, The
Pleiad has determined the top five best sports
moments at Albion, for the 2007 to 2008 school year.

Profile of a coach

Sports EditorLloyd Carr is the former head coach
of the University of Michigan football team. During
his career as head coach from 1995 to January of
this year, Carr won five Big Ten titles and a
National Championship in 1997. Carr is speaking at
Albion’s College Commencements on May 10 and sat
down with The Pleiad to talk about retirement
coaching, Albion, the Bowl Championship Series (BCS)
and Appalachian State.

In
four straight sets

Staff WriterAlbion’s women’s tennis is going for
its fourth consecutive MIAA title this weekend. For
the MIAA Championship tournament, the Lady Brits
have the number one seed.
The Albion College women’s tennis
team defeated Calvin College on Monday night, coming
off of a victory against Tri-State last Thursday.
