Project  First  Step®

Need For the Program

With today's society growing and expanding at it current technological rate, children today are being exposed more and more to the "physically inactive" world. Studies show that children spend on average upwards of 40 hours in front of a screen. This includes time watching television, working on the computer, and playing video games. This equates to a full work week of inactive time.

Project First Step aims to further kids progress in sports, active, and learning readiness. With the percentage of obese and overweight children on the rise in recent years, a correlation can be drawn between health concerns and screen time spent on average. In addition, research indicates that internalizing movement skills at a young age is imperative for future overall success. Our project works towards getting kids involved with movement activities that can help them succeed in the future, and further them in society.
