Frandsen Named Interim Vice President for Finance and Administration |

 Mike Frandsen, assistant professor of management at Albion since 2004, was named Gerstacker Institute director in 2006. Albion College has announced the appointment of Michael Frandsen as interim vice president for finance and administration, effective July 7, 2009. Frandsen currently directs the College's Carl A. Gerstacker Liberal Arts Institute for Professional Management. He will succeed Troy VanAken, who recently accepted the presidency at Thiel College in Pennsylvania. In addition, Charlene Crandell, currently the Gerstacker Institute's associate director, has been named acting director, effective July 7, 2009.

Current Israeli-Palestinian tensions are clarified by one of the 20th
century's most notable peacemakers, as Albion College presents Nobel
laureate David Trimble on Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in the
College's Goodrich Chapel. Trimble's address, "A Nobel Laureate's
Perspective on the Middle East," serves as the 2009 Joseph S. Calvaruso
lecture, capping the College's annual Elkin R. Isaac Research Symposium.

Turner receives NABC Outstanding Service Award |

 Mike Turner led Albion to 527 victories and five MIAA titles. Former Albion College head men's basketball coach Mike Turner received an Outstanding Service Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches when the organization met for its convention in Detroit surrounding the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. The award has been presented annually since 1997 and is given to coaches whose actions "inside and outside the lines" of coaching have distinguished them as valuable members of their communities.
Turner was honored alongside Jim Smith,longtime head basketball coach at St. John's University in Minnesota, and Bo Ryan, head coach at University of Wisconsin, Madison.
