 Signage promotes Albion's Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center as a verified farm in the livestock, farmstead, and cropping systems. Albion College made history Thursday as the first college in the State of Michigan to become certified in the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program (MTESP). Additionally, the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) is recognizing the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center at the college as a verified farm in the Livestock, Farmstead and Cropping Systems for implementing appropriate pollution prevention practices. Never before has a property been recognized in both programs, which is a remarkable accomplishment.

Albion Community Enjoys Faster Internet Connectivity |

The Albion College community is enjoying faster Internet connectivity - to the tune of a 423 percent increase - as the information technology department added BroadStripe as a second Internet service provider.
Merit, Albion's initial Internet service provider, offered information technology a connection at 30 megabits per second through last year. The College community reduced the Merit connection to 27 Mbps this year, while adding 100Mbps from BroadStripe.

Research Opportunity Leads Strasser to Internship |

 Samantha Strasser, '11, is planning a study abroad experience to Japan for the spring semester. An interest in astronomy prompted Samantha Strasser, '11, to study physics at Albion College. An on-campus research opportunity, which led to a summer internship with the fusion energy division of the energy and engineering sciences directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has opened up even more future paths for the Brighton native to consider.
"I like everything about physics," Strasser said. Right now, her interests range from astrophysics to electronics.

Albion Repeats As National Champions in Canoe/Kayak |

 Matt Howe and Kristin Polk navigate the Rappahannock River during the team relay. The Albion College Canoe Club captured its third consecutive national title as it posted a perfect score in the American Canoe Association's Collegiate Canoe & Kayak National Downriver Championships held Oct. 10-11 on the Rappahannock River. In scoring the meet like cross country (where the lowest score wins), Albion finished with a 33-point margin of victory over the second-place team from Davidson (N.C.) University. Zaak Havens, '10, Kasey Kaplan, '10, Emily Magyar, '10, and Liz Reimann, '10, paddled their way to individual national titles in their respective events. |
