Institutes present economic summit April 17 Print E-mail

The Albion College Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service and Carl A. Gerstacker Liberal Arts Institute for Professional Management will join forces to provide opportunities for networking and to generate recommendations for addressing economic issues facing southwest Michigan by hosting a regional economic summit Friday, April 17. The program is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the college's Baldwin Hall.

After an opportunity to network over a continental breakfast, Mark Haas, the state's chief deputy treasurer, will provide the keynote address by providing an update on Michigan's economic and revenue situation. Stephen Greenhalgh, '74, and Jim Walsh of Boardman LLP, Maureen Krauss, ‘84, Oakland County's deputy economic development director, Kathy Agard, ‘71, director of the Johnson Center for Philanthropy, and Moose Scheib, ‘02, chairman and CEO or Minza LLC and LoanMod.com will lead morning breakout sessions about banking and mortgages, pro bono litigation, philanthropic and non-profit organizations, and foreclosure prevention, loss mitigation, and homeowner retention.

Afternoon breakout sessions will feature discussions on the topics of education and engaging entrepreneurs.
