Michigan State Students Join Albion for Charity Concert Print E-mail


ALBION, Mich. — Students from Albion College and Michigan State University come together to help raise money for the Ruth Ellis Center, a homeless youth center in Highland Park, Michigan. "The Shirt Off Your Back" concert takes place Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in the Goodrich Club, 402 East Porter Street in Albion.

Featured artists are the Spartan Dischords, a male accappella group from Michigan State.

"The Goodrich Club is proud to host this event for The Ruth Ellis Center," said Vicky Seiter, Goodrich Club president. "Not only are we facilitating a positive connection with Albion College students and the surrounding communities, we are emphasizing the importance of giving back to and supporting diversity within our community."
 
The Ruth Ellis Center provides short-term and long-term residential safe space and support services for runaway, homeless, and at risk gay, lesbian bi-attractional, transgender and questioning youth in Detroit and Southeastern Michigan.

The charge for "The Shirt Off Your Back" is $1 at the door, or any article of clothing such as the shirt off your back! Complementary hors d’eouvres will be served.
