Albion College’s Theatre Season Continues with Entertaining Dark Comedy Print E-mail

The 2009-2010 theatre season continues with the dark comedy Betty’s Summer Vacation, appearing in the Herrick Theatre at 8 p.m. each night from Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Saturday, Nov. 21. There is no late seating.

Betty's Summer Vacation offers a disturbing depiction of our television-obsessed culture. The play follows Betty, a young woman sharing a house on the beach for the summer with five strangers, and their systematic degradation into violence and utter chaos.

Said student director Michael Fentin, ’10, “Directing Betty's has been one of the most challenging, liberating, and fulfilling experiences I've had in awhile. It has challenged me to listen and act on my impulses honestly, something that has always been my goal as an artist.”

Because of language, violence and mature content, this production is not suitable for children under 17. Tickets are $4 for the general public; $3 for students and seniors.
