Albion College Goes Green with Eco Fair Print E-mail

For those who want to save the planet, listen to live music or discover their carbon footprint, Albion College’s Environmental Institute provides the opportunity with its Green Day celebration. The event is Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 7-9 p.m. in the Gerstacker Commons of the Kellogg Center.

Green Day features live music, give-aways, dozens of student presenters, an interactive environmentally-themed art project and much more. Said student organizer Pryce Hadley, “Come learn about a variety of important environmental topics, such as mountain top removal, organic cuisine, shark finning, tidal power and metallic sulfide mining in the Upper Peninsula. Discover, create, and share your enthusiasm about the natural world at Green Day!”

Green Day is a biannual event organized by Albion College Environmental Institute students, and this semester’s Green Day takes place less than a month before the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (Dec. 7-18, 2009). The Environmental Institute hopes to spread awareness of this meeting's great importance and purpose: the Copenhagen conference will set the standard for climate change mitigation and sustainable development in industrialized and developing nations alike.

The Albion College Environmental Institute is a pre-professional program which offers education in environmental issues. The Environmental Institute offers students an opportunity to delve into the complex issue of environmental degradation, both from a hard science and policy perspective.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Pryce Hadley at 516/629-1710 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
