"proximity," a drawing from McCauley's current exhibit
Inspiring and innovative art professor Anne Mills McCauley captivates her audience with her most recent show, “Seeing Things,” currently on display at Albion College’s Bobbitt Visual Arts Building. The show runs through Dec. 6.
“I work to achieve a tactile surface and hope to imbue the elements with a quiet sense of movement,” says McCauley. Composed of four to five distinct bodies of work, “Seeing Things” includes primarily oil pastel drawings and color woodcuts. The titles suggest a personal evolution and navigational reflections.
McCauley graduated with a BFA from Eastern Michigan University and attended Michigan State University where she earned her MFA. McCauley is currently teaching printmaking, book arts, and computer art, in addition to other courses at Albion College.
The Bobbitt Gallery is open and free to the public every Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Bobbitt Gallery will be closed on November 25 through November 29.
