Shaheen, '88, Proposes Downtown Hotel to Albion City Council

At the December 15 Albion City Council meeting, 1988 Albion College graduate Samuel Shaheen, a Saginaw-based surgeon and real estate developer, formally proposed building a 72-room boutique hotel that includes a restaurant and ballroom on 1.25 acres in the heart of downtown. The brownfield plan, projected to cost $9.2 million, was unanimously approved by the City Council and now awaits state review.
