Albion Well Represented in Canoe/Kayak Collegiate National Championships

Albion College finished second in the women’s team standings at the American Canoe Association’s Collegiate National Championships on the Tuckaseegee River in Dillsboro, N.C.

Ann Armstrong and Claire Tillman produced the most points toward Albion’s team score by winning the OC2 Tandem Canoe race. Armstrong added a runner-up finish in the OC1 solo canoe race, and a third-place finish in the BIC SUP event. Armstrong was joined by fourth-place finishes by Claire Tillman in the solo event and Sienna Mendina in the BIV SUP. Madeline Beattie achieved fourth-place finishes in the kayak short and long boat races.

Taylor Macielak and Camilla Williamson also paddled during the event.

Matthew Diehl scored enough points to lift Albion to third place in the men’s standings.
