Army Veteran Brings War Poetry to Albion's 2014 Common Reading Experience

Brian Turner, Author of Here, Bullet

The Iraq war is powerfully captured through the eyes of a soldier in "Here, Bullet," a collection of poems written by U.S. Army veteran Brian Turner. Turner will discuss his work and his experiences in two presentations at Albion College on Thursday, September 4. Turner will discuss "Here, Bullet" at 1 p.m. in the College's Goodrich Chapel. At 7:30 p.m. in the Science Complex Towsley Hall, Turner will present "My Life as a Foreign Country."

Albion Well Represented in Canoe/Kayak Collegiate National Championships

Albion's canoe club participated in the 2014 national championships in North Carolina.
Albion College was well represented in the American Canoe Association's Canoe/Kayak Collegiate National Championships. The Britons finished second in the women's team standings, while Matthew Diehl scored enough points to pull Albion up to third in the men's standings.

The Albion College Canoe Club achieved a second-place finish in the Outdoorsman Triathlon’s Collegiate Relay Series. The event was contested Sept. 28-29 in Wesser, N.C.

Faculty, Staff Celebrate Wellness, Weight Loss with Dedicated Facility

Albion College faculty and staff are celebrating the loss of inches and pounds as well as newfound energy and focus as the campus community has embraced wellness at a campus location developed solely for them. Under the direction of Director of Campus Wellness Tom Johnson, the Depot is frequented by 20 faculty and staff members who take part in a wide variety of physical activity.
