Students Rally for Hate Crimes Awareness - March 30
In response to recent crimes in the national news, Albion College's Black Student Alliance (BSA) invites the community to an awareness event Friday, March 30, at 12:30 p.m. in front of Baldwin Hall (Hannah Street between East Michigan and East Erie streets).
BSA cites Florida's Trayvon Martin case and the recent murder of Iraqi expatriate Shaima Alawadi in California as prompts for the rally. "We are asking for all to wear hoodies or headscarves with a sign such as 'Do I look suspicious?,'" said BSA member Darrian Hollonquest. "We want to encourage the community to ask questions about these events and their impact on society."
