"The Alternate Greenwich Village" folk music scene in Coconut Grove, Florida, is the subject for presenter Ralph Houghton Wednesday March 28 at 12 p.m. in Albion's Mary Sykes Room. Houghton's presentation is the March Odd Topics Society Luncheon, open to the public.
Houghton, who has worked for Albion College's Information Technology division for 15 years, plays everything from bluegrass to light jazz and early rock along with folk music. He plays the upright bass, guitar and psaltery and enjoys playing with a variety of groups and friends.
Friends of the Albion College Library sponsors the Odd Topics Lecture series, which is presented on a monthly basis at Albion College. The discussions are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend. The charge for the lunch is $5.50 to $7 and reservations are not required.
