Lake Forest Orchestra, Associate Conductor, Special Guests on Albion College Concert
A big concert is in store for Albion, as Albion College's Symphony Orchestra performs with the Lake Forest College Orchestra Sunday, February 19, at 4 p.m. in Goodrich Chapel. Albion College associate conductor Drew Dunham will also be featured.
The two ensembles will perform two orchestral favorites, Dvorak's "New World Symphony" and Wagner's "Der Meistersinger." Albion College's orchestra will perform a horn concerto featuring Dunham, and Lake Forest will perform a piece alone as well.
The joint concert is the first in a planned long-term association for the two colleges. Albion will travel to Lake Forest in 2013 for another joint concert. The collaboration gives both schools the opportunity to perform orchestra pieces that require more musicians than either school has alone.
