Undergraduate research on the health care system in my native Romania and an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels convinced me to pursue a career in international public health. After earning my master's degree, I worked alongside seasoned public health and medical professionals at the U.S. Agency for International Development and contributed to the agency's efforts to improve health care in countries worldwide. Now, I am pursuing a doctorate in public health and preparing myself for the next phase in my career, still focused on improving population health wherever the need exists.
