David Koelsch, director of the Immigration Law Clinic at the University of Detroit Mercy, will discuss using immigration as a tool in economic development. This topic is pertinent to the redevelopment of Detroit and other areas in Michigan and the U.S. The Lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in Albion College’s Bobbitt Auditorium.
As director of the Immigration Law Clinic and the Asylum Law Clinic, Koelsch oversees work with abandoned immigrant children and abused immigrant women, among other cases. He received a 2009 Outstanding Immigration Law award from the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Koelsch received his B.A. from the Michigan State University in 1988 and his J.D. from Catholic University of America in 1994.
