On Saturday, April 26, SAAC will be hosting a Special Olympics volleyball tournament from 9-4. The tournament will be taking place at the Dow Recreation Center from 9-4 and Kresge Gymnasium from 9-11.
Over 160 Special Olympic athletes as well as 40 coaches/chaperones from 16 teams will be in attendance. If you are on campus that day and a random stranger comes up to you (and probably tries to shake your hand or hug you) as they are on their way to Upper Baldwin for lunch, please take a moment to welcome them to Albion College.
Also, if you would like to stop by and watch them play, they would sincerely appreciate it. Both of the volleyball teams from Area 19 (Jackson and Calhoun) are being coached solely by Albion College staff and students and are gearing up for a repeat gold medal performance at the state summer games.
We are also in need of some more volunteers for this event. If you know of anyone that would like to chaperone a team or line judge sometime during the day, please have them contact Melissa Walton. Thanks!
