Allan is an economics and management – accounting major. In particular, he likes Albion’s small classes where professors know all of the students individually. The E&M faculty has kept Allan on track academically, as he has been on the dean’s list every semester.
"The best part of the E&M department is the faculty and staff," he says. "They really go out of their way to help you succeed, whether in class or in life."
Albion's accounting courses helped Allan land two paid accounting internships: one with Willis and Jurasek, a small accounting firm in Jackson, the other with the Albion College Business Office. As part of the E&M department's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for two years, Allan has had the opportunity to work directly with clients in the Albion community.
Outside the classroom, Allan played for two years on the varsity football team and is currently president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and treasurer of the Accounting Society.
"As an E&M major, I have had great experiences and outstanding opportunities," he says.
