Albion College Symphony Orchestra

Albion College Symphony Orchestra

back to ensembles

The Albion College Symphony Orchestra (ACSO) is  open by audition to all students, regardless of major; auditions take place on the first two days of each semester. There are 55 players at present, including 30 string players together with the standard compliment of woodwinds, brass and percussion. The ensemble performs three regular symphony orchestra programs each season, together with a Collage concert, a Children's Concert, and a Concerto Concert for winners of the annual Concerto Competition. Each year there is also an opportunity to perform operatic or music-theatre repertoire. The orchestra rehearses with Strings Only on Monday from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. and Full Orchestra on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. and is directed by Dr. James Ball.
