During the Fall 1998 Semester, I worked with Narciso Solero on the recording "Never seek to tell thy love." It features works by Joseph Marx and Anthony Taffs. There are still copies of the CD available for sale. If you would like to purchase one, contact Dr. Maureen Balke at mbalke@albion.edu.
About the Recording
The songs in the collection seek to tell of the many aspects of love: joy, passion, longing and the regret of love lost. All are present in colorfully contrasting moods as brought to life by composer poet. One is immersed in the searing passion and rapturous bliss of "Barkarole" and touched by the poignant farewell in "Remember Me." From the almost neurotic obsession of the narrator of "Annabel Lee," to the moonstruck Pierrot for his "Kolumbine," to the mystical and religious fervor in "Peace" and "Marienlied," these many faceted works come to life and always reach the listener with their heartfelt outpouring of emotion.
