Dr. Lia Jensen-Abbott - Visiting Assistant Professor,
Piano and Music Theory

Dr. Jensen-Abbott earned a
BM in Piano Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an MM
and MA in piano and music theory from The Pennsylvania State University,
a Performer Diploma from Indiana University, and a DMA in Piano
Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has performed
recitals throughout the midwest , performed and taught at the Con Brio
Music Festival in Blonay, Switzerland, and in June, 2009 reached the
second round of the International Mendelssohn Piano Competition in
Taurisano, Italy. Dr. Jensen-Abbott has given lecture recitals and
master classes concerning her areas of research--Beethoven and Haydn,
and Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn for the Kalamazoo Music Teachers
Association and at Albion College, and has taught for the Gilmore Piano
Festival KeysFest and the Gilmore Piano Camp in Michigan.
