Computer Science Faculty Position

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Albion College invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track position in Computer Science to begin August 2003.   Any field of computer science will be considered.  An advanced degree in computer science or related field is required. A doctoral degree is required by interim tenure review.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Startup funds will be provided.

We seek quality applicants who have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching computer science at the introductory and advanced undergraduate level.  Our department offers both a major and a minor in computer science.  Individuals with an active research agenda  are sought, especially those with a strong interest in working with undergraduates.

Our department has two instructional/research computer laboratories running Windows and Linux respectively.  A Macintosh lab available for use in the college Library.  A SGI Octane2 is available for use in a shared science laboratory.  Albion has extensive campus computing facilities including wireless networking and is a member of the Internet2 consortium. Albion was ranked 7th most wired small college in the previous two Yahoo Internet life surveys.  We are in the beginning stages of a $42 Million renovation/construction project of the existing science complex which will include state-of-the-art space for computer science education.  More departmental information is available at http://www.albion.edu/math/.
