Robert M. Teeter
The collection consists of six series and seven subseries :
Series I: Albion College Surveys, 1984, 1996 (.25 lin. ft.)
Series II: Alpha Pi of Sigma Chi (.15 lin. ft.)
This series contains loose publications of the Alpha Pi chapter of Sigma Chi, which appear to have belonged to Howard M. Teeter.
Series III: Artifacts, ca.1929, n.d. (2.25 lin. ft.)
This series consists of two subseries: Albion College, Howard M. Teeter. In the Albion College subseries, there are a number of college artifacts that appear to date to Howard M. Teeter's attendance at Albion, ca.1929. There are first and second editions of a few Albion College Wedgwood plates, a variety of letterman sweaters and Albion "A's," in addition to some other items of Albion College clothing from the 1920s. The other subseries contains two items: an award presented to Robert M. Teeter and a paperweight, both without date.
Series IV: Audiovisual Materials, 2004-05, n.d. (.1 lin. ft.)
This series includes a compilation videotape of network TV memorials to Robert M. Teeter, a cassette tape of Sigma Nu songs, and an electronic version of the paper indices found in series 5.
Series V: NBC News / Wall Street Journal Polls, 1992-2004 (3 lin. ft.)
This series is arranged first by subseries: Articles, Indices, Memos, Polls, Results; and then chronologically. It contains polls conducted by Hart/Teeter, Hart/McInturff, and Teeter/McInturff on a variety of different issues, including statistical breakdowns of the approval and disapproval ratings of George W. Bush's presidency and his administration's handling of the economy, foreign policy, and the war on terrorism. In addition, the polls show public opinion and statistics on topics such as the adequacy and party make-up of Congress; potential candidates for presidential election; comparisons between the parties' handling of food safety, abortion, gay marriage, the economy, government spending, taxes, etc.; the Iraq War, Haiti; stem cell research; tax cuts; social security; bans on assault weapons and the definition and commitment of the administration to moral values. As added value to this collection, there are person and subject indices, articles referencing individuals featured in the polls, and a number of compilations reports for each year.
Series VI: Scrapbooks, 1939-2004 (1.25 lin. ft.)
The scrapbook entitled, "In Memory of Robert M. Teeter," contains local, state and national tributes (photocopies or online print-outs); memorial service eulogies (i.e., William C. Martin, Peter D. Hart, William D. Ruckelshaus); condolences; flowers received; and contributors to the Robert M. Teeter Fellowship at Albion College. The oversize scrapbook contains laminated copies of clipped articles from the "American Opinion" section of the Wall Street Journal that reference statistics from Hart and Teeter's NBC News / Wall Street Journal polls from 1996 to 2000.
